David is a master of many musical genres and has performed, composed and taught over his long musical career. His time is now largely spent teaching, adjudicating as well as directing classical & jazz ensembles. He was member of the the adjudication team at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, for a number of years where musicians, dancers and singers perform each year from approximately 120 nations around the world. He has also made many recordings for BBC`s `Songs Of Praise` - with famous artists such as Lesley Garrett, Aled Jones, The New English Orchestra, Noel Richards, Phatfish, Stuart Townend, Graham Kendrick and Jonathan Veira.
After a lifetime of study, application and performances, David is now happily teaching and passing on his skills as a woodwind teacher Norwich young musicians come to for expert instruction in a variety of instruments. David offers tuition on woodwind, saxophone and flutes from beginner to Diploma standard, Piano and Music Theory from beginner to Grade 8. As one of the music teaching team at the Norwich School, and the Norfolk Music Service, NCYM (Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians) which is a Saturday Music School here in the City of Norwich (one of of only five CYM Music Academies here in the UK directed by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, one of the world`s leading Conservatoires).
Many of David`s pupils have continued to advanced standards of playing and gained top positions in the Norfolk Young Musician of the Year, Norfolk County Music Festival,and the BBC`s Young Musician competition (where, in Cardiff in 2014, one of his students reached the woodwind semi-finals - a tremendous achievement for them).
David has produced an album of music which incorporates four of his own solo works: ‘Columcille’ (1995), ‘Lux Aeterna’ (1997), ‘Breath of Heaven’ (2001) and ‘God Is Love’ (2005) which can be found in the album entitled `In Paradism`, produced by ICC. David is very pleased to pass on his skills to a younger set and encourages pupils to stretch themselves and play an active role within their schools or local area - you`ll have a lot of fun doing so!
