David has a lifetime of professional musical experience and over many years as a Saxophone Tutor in Norwich and Master of many other instruments, he has seen many pupils progress from their higher musical studies at major Music Schools and University placements to rewarding professional careers as either performers or music teachers, passing on their skills to a new generation of musicians.

David Fitzgerald is a former professional musician and renowned recording artist. He is an expert player of Alto, Tenor and Soprano Saxophones, as well as specialising in woodwind and flutes.  Presently after a  lifetime of musical study and adventure, David is teaching pupils a number of instruments including tutoring Saxophone at the Norwich School, as well as co-directing both the jazz band at the Senior School and also Saxology (a Saxophone ensemble). David also teaches flute, Clarinet, Piano and Music Theory from beginners to Grade 8 standard.

David`s musical credentials have led to inspired collaborations with many other artists and groups such as the Celtic fusion band IONA and international performances.  His specialism is in woodwind, saxophones and flutes and at the present time, as a music teacher at Norwich School, David is happy to tutor pupils of the Saxophone usually within the Norwich school term times, with some flexibilty for occasional lessons during the holiday period.

David is involved in the Norfolk Music Service.  David is also part of the team at Norwich SchoolNCYM (Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians).  This is  a Saturday Music School in the City of Norwich which is directed by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, a world-leading Conservatoire.  It is one of of only five CYM Music Academies in the UK.

David also plays and teaches many other woodwind instruments and prepares pupils for their Trinity College London Examinations in Classical and jazz music. The majority of David`s pupils are actively engaged in creating music within their own schools or as members of other musical ensembles in Norfolk and are offered the chance to perform at the yearly Pupils` Summer Recital, held at the King Of Hearts, the Narthex Centre (which is situated at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist) and also in the Sanctuary (part of STN/St Thomas Church Norwich).
