Private & Online Music Tuition

As well as teaching Woodwind at Norwich School (where I also directed the Senior School`s Junior & Senior Jazz Band & Saxophone ensembles for some 20+ years), I offer Private Tuition to pupils in the City of Norwich and surrounding region of Norfolk & Suffolk.

I also offer music lessons to Pupils online (using Zoom).

I offer tuition on the following instruments: Alto, Tenor & Soprano Saxophones, Flute, Piccolo, Clarinet, Piano & Music Theory (for some pupils to assist preparation for ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) examinations. I instruct & assist pupils to prepare for both Classical & Jazz ABRSM examinations.

Lessons are usually 30 minutes in duration. My teaching diary is in accordance with the Norfolk County CouncilUK school term dates but I do offer occasional lesson days during holiday breaks.

Following many years as a Professional Musician I regard it a privilege to now teach music and to pass on to my pupils all that I have learned & experienced from a life of study and professional musical application. Above all, it is my endeavour that I might assist each pupil to discover their own voice and true potential in their own musical journey.

Over the years of teaching here in Norfolk it has been highly rewarding to assist pupils on to higher musical study (at leading Music Schools & Universities) and to then witness their progression into a professional career in music, as performers and as music teachers also. Many of my pupils (if not most) play an active role within the musical life of their school and are members numerous ensembles throughout Norfolk.

My pupils have been awarded places at the following Academies & Conservatoires:Guildhall School of Music & Drama,Royal Academy of Music,Royal Birmingham Conservatoire,RNCM&Trinity Laban(for Classical as well as Jazz Programmes of Study) as well as Youth Programmes within theNational Youth Jazz Collective, National Youth Jazz OrchestraandAldeburgh Young Musicians.
