An Evening with Graham Kendrick
These are challenging times, but if many people find that their music is one of the things keeping them going! If you are keeping up with your music practice and looking for online support at home with your music, I am offering Instrumental and Music Theory lessons via Zoom and Skype. so that our time at home can be put to good use. There is no reason to put your music lessons and theory learning to one side if you are away from your usual routine.
It is a real pleasure to pass on the musical knowledge and practice that I have learned over a lifetime of professional musical application and study. I am privileged to assist as a teacher of music at the Norwich School, NCYM (Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians) and the Norfolk Music Service. NCYM is a Saturday Music School here in the City of Norwich (one of of only five CYM Music Academies here in the UK directed by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, one of the world`s leading Conservatoires).
I also head Saxology which is a creative Saxophone ensemble, the Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians and the Norfolk Music Hub. As a part of the excellent Music Teaching team here in Norwich School, Norfolk I also co-direct the Senior School`s Jazz Band.
Over many years of teaching my students in the city of Norwich and around Norfolk, I have always found it a delight to witness their progress into finding their personal `voice` and developing their own promising careers in music, either as teachers or performers. My hope and prayers for my students are always to encourage them to discover their own potential in their musical journey and I see no reason why music theory lessons should cease at this time when it is just as easy and pleasurable to keep in contact with my students via Zoom and Skype.
As well as offering music theory lessons via Zoom/Skype for online lessons to your home I will be happy to resume private tuition to pupils in the City of Norwich and the surrounding regions of Norfolk and Suffolk when we are back in our normal routines after the current crisis.
Zoom is a popular platform for holding online meetings and it transfers very well to home tuition to pupils around the world as well as the UK! Please contact me to obtain a link and we will be able to arrange a convenient appointment. You will need access to a laptop of course but the lesson can take place wherever you are based. A lesson usually lasts around 30 minutes.
As one of my students, you could follow the many other pupils who have have been awarded places at Academies & Conservatoires such as: Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Royal Academy of Music, RNCM & Trinity Laban (for Classical as well as Jazz Programmes of Study). There are also possibilities to follow in their footsteps as part of the wonderful Youth Programmes within the National Youth Jazz Collective, National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Aldeburgh Young Musicians.
So, if you wish to continue your music theory lessons via Zoom and Skype from home then do give me a call.
With my very best wishes... for the health and happiness of all my students and their families. David Fitzgerald.
