If you are studying an instrument and need to augment your learning with music theory lessons Norfolk expert David Fitzgerald, professional music teacher and performer, is able to help students of any age and ability from beginner to grade 8.
Learning music theory might seem just an added extra to some music students, but to progress at your instrument effectively, whatever you play, a good grounding in music theory is essential. A thorough knowlege of music theory (the language of music) will help you play to higher standards as a soloist and also increase your pleasure and understanding when playing in ensemble.
David Fitzgerald plays and teaches a variety of instrumental and music theory lessons both professionally and privately. He specialises in Saxophones, Woodwind and Flutes as well as the Piano and is very happy to pass on his skills and experience in any or all of these, as well as offering music theory lessons to students from around his home county of Norfolk.
As part of the educational team, David teaches Woodwind in schools in Norwich, Norfolk, and he is happy to offer extra curricular music theory lessons both privately and online to new students in the Norfolk area and further afield. David has a professional teaching practice in Norwich, as a visiting music teacher, principally in Norwich School, Notre Dame High School and Notre Dame Preparatory Schood.
David Fitzgerald has also served as an Adjudicator on the Celtic Day at Eisteddfod music festival, which is of international renown as a showcase for the music, dancing and singing in the Celtic tradition.
Music has been both business and a lifetime pleasure to David who has spent many fruitful hours performing and composing in collaboration with artists over the years, after first starting off in military bands in the 70s. In offering both instrument and music theory lessons Norfolk has been a great place to keep skills alive and help others to experience the joy of performing music for their own pleasure and that of family, friends, or the wider world, and to that end, David has also contributed to the BBC TV`s Songs of Praise on a number of occasions.
